Jump on board a magical mystical tour with the gorgeous Copper & Cross.

 

Copper and Cross is a handmade home wares initiative launched in 2015.

They are obsessed with creating using our human hands because they love the integrity and quality that is unique to homemade products. With design aesthetic focusing on textures, raw materials, and monochrome, metallic palettes mixed with sharp splashes of colour. Think bohemian/modern/Mexican.

 

Mohemican? Bodernican?

 

Copper and Cross was borne when Director and Weaver, Laksmi set out to make a plant hanging, had a nostalgic moment with her eight-year-old self (think paddle pop sticks and yarn) and came out with a woven cross. It has been a whirlwind of the most enjoyable kind since then and are so grateful to their supportive customers for without them this would not be possible!

Each  piece is painstakingly and lovingly woven in the hinterlands of Byron Bay.

Grow a Note - making the earth a little greener

Seed Paper Gift Notes are the ultimate eco-friendly gift that keep on giving. A handy little note card that doubles as a gift for any occasion - especially for those who love gardening. - you could add a packet of matching seeds or add a little terracotta pot.... you can even add matching Herb Spoon / Forks Plant markers. Each note card is embedded with one type of plant seed: PARSLEY, BASIL, THYME, OREGANO, WILDFLOWER (SWAN RIVER DAISY)

Spending many many many hours shredding and soaking paper to make seed paper, the efforts were not as had hoped for... whilst they looked beautiful they were not exactly as wanted. What we needed was a paper that was 100% recycled, embedded with seeds and able to be planted just as a seed would normally, with the paper acting as a mulch to support the seeds as they grow. Choosing to support an Australian company that has many years experience in paper making a collaboration with The Spoon Flower formed. The  paper & seeds were chosen as they are ideal for their intended purpose and that is - to give a gift that is plantable and grows a happy memory. By creating Grow notes and gifting them we are helping make the earth a little greener and that is always a great thing, or we are encouraging others to get outdoors, get some fresh air and step away from the daily grind. Gardening is a gift itself if you can allow yourself the time and patience it takes to GROW.

& walking in fields, I am desperate to get my soles into a pair of these for Summer. A little workshop of handmade leather shoes in Bulgaria goes by the name of  Crupon. Made entirely by hand with lots of love and care, without compromising on the materials used, I am pretty sure I am on a winner here for the coming summer. 'You will love them and will not want to take them off' says Dimitar. 'Your shoes will be part of your everyday life for a long time because they are extremely durable and comfortable' . Special attention has been made to the correct positioning of each strap, made with first quality Italian leather that is vegetative processed by ancient Italian recipes & is Chrome Free. The soles of all their glorious bohemian-esque shoes are made ​​of natural rubber & promise comfort - who doesn't want comfort & beauty all in one little handmade package?

Removable Wallpaper! Yes Please! there are so many choices it would be hard to choose just one - stick & go - sounds all too easy - custom choose your colours? Yes! Interior styling has never been easier with the quickest of fixes to update a room, especially if you are in renting box and need to inject a bit of your own personality into your new pad, and you can take it with you when you go - a cost effective styling tool anyone can use. Pricey? not at all considering you can move it around like a piece of furniture under $50AU roll seems quite reasonable to me.

Michal Keren Gelman’s ceramics comes to life in a tucked away Galilee studio, clear, clean, bright. With music overflowing and oak trees looming through the window, her potter’s apron and good hands, clay, imagination – creation is happening.
Michal Keren Gelman is a Bezalel, the Academy for Arts and Design in Jerusalem, graduate. She lives and crafts in Mitzpe Hilla, a small village perched on a Galilee mountain-top. Once jewelers, then a stage props designer, her alluring design language is splendidly expressed in her ceramic works.

Michal’s ceramic ware is formed by traditional wheel craft and unique techniques of clay folding, engraving, and silk printing. Though delicate and so fine looking, Michal’s ceramics is amazingly practical, and can be used anywhere in the kitchen, being oven, microwave, and dishwasher proof.

Take the softly winding turn from 89 road (Nahariya –Zfat). Michal will be delighted to show you around her studio, featuring a magnificent collection of clay works. With plenty of courtesy tea freshly picked from her herb garden, served in her handmade tea pot and cups, you are most welcomed to hold and touch, to feel the textures, to enjoy the beautiful pieces made with love and meticulous craftsmanship.
Michal will gladly share her sentiment about art, beauty, and materials life is made of. With great pleasure she will wrap for you the pieces you desire, to take back home for yourself, and for the ones you love.

A perfect Sunday morning find & share are the divine creatives from  not PERFECT LINEN .

 

They are a small family of creative people. They work to reach their big dreams and  spread the beauty of "homemade".

More than simple forms, simple colors, simple seams, natural fabrics and healthy thinking – these all honestly simple things were created for those who appreciate natural things and adore simple forms and homemade look. No smell of the factory, no factory seams, no perfect ironing -only a homemade idea with the help of linen.

All items are made in their lovely home studio. Using BALTIC linen fabric from their native country - Lithuania. It brings a lot to them know that they can share a bit of their deep traditions and culture with each of you.
